The crew meet every Monday night between 7pm and 9pm at the Boat House at the bottom of Sharp Street, Askam.
Due to EEC regulations crew members receive training in a variety of areas from first aid, radio communications and GPS systems to boat and quad bike handling and pyrotechnics.
Crew hold up-to-date training including: Advanced Power Boat, RYA Level 2 Powerboat, VHF, First Aid and Sea Survival.
We may complete further training during the week as required to ensure all the crew keep their skill set up-to-date.
We are always seeking to strengthen the unit by recruiting new members. There are numerous opportunities within Duddon Inshore Rescue to learn new skills, develop your potential and play an important role in the community. You don't need to go on the boat to take part, we have land-based roles that are of equal importance.
If you have ambition, commitment and enthusiasm we would be delighted to meet you.
We ask that you attend a minimum of 50% of training sessions plus can commit to helping at other events where possible.
If you are considering becoming a crew member please refer to our contact page or pop in to meet the crew at a training session.
