community involvement

Here at Duddon Inshore Rescue the local community is at the heart of what we do.

There are a number of ways that we are involved in the local community from showing youth groups around our Boat House and teaching water safety basics to taking part in local events such as carnivals, helping with community work like beach cleans to providing support at events such as the annual Keswick to Barrow Walk. We have created a seating area next to the Boat House so everyone can sit and appreciate the stunning views and have erected signs to alert people to the dangers of the Estuary.

If you are interested in arranging a visit for a group or you would like further details regarding ways in which we may be able to help you then do not hesitate to get in touch.

And a thank you to our community

We are continually grateful for the support that we receive from the local community and as a voluntary organisation this support is always appreciated. Whether a financial donation or one of time or resources these do not go unnoticed. The gallery below highlights just a handful of the many people who have supported us recently.
